can anyone tell me how to wire a kill switch?
what kind of switch to use?

simplest way is to put a SPST switch on the 'hot' wire leading to the guitar's output jack

right?

To be exact, a SPST switch that "shorts out" the output jack. In other words, goes across the two terminals of the output jack.

right, s'what i was getting at ... so that 'open' would let the output pass to the jack and closed would shunt it to ground
