    Re: Floor shop custom question

I don't think either one will stick to the bobbin.

I suppose you could take a baseplate and two creme bobbins and send them back for a repair rewind.

Also, just how far can one go with "off white" or "parchment" before is becomes creme?
Sure, let me see what I can get for you.

Some have been known to combine a zebra and reverse zebra...

It has worked for me in the past with strat covers...

The parchment is just off-white, no where near a cream color at all. Parchment is top right, white is top left, zebra middle.

Wow that was fast, thanks man!!

Yeah, it is hard to see a difference between the two in the above pic.

Still a cool old Gibson PAF vibe

Probably because the bobbins look dissimilar enough. The Carvin pickups have 12 poles per bobbin. I wouldn't be surprised if Carvin had a Trademark on that look, since you know it's a Carvin pickup.

Assuming my above statement is correct, couldn't SD sell the Parallel Axis pickups in double cream? Not sure if it makes sense economically, since the PATB pickups are lower volume. But, would they be allowed by law?

How many people here see a guitar with a double cream pickup and sigh (quietly or through loud curses) that DiMarzio has this trademark?
