  • Gravity Storm for an Ash strat?

As the title says: I have one unmodded stat left, ash with a maple fretboard, and I just found out it's routed H-S-H, so it's 'bucker time. Heard the gravities in another guitar (basswood with a maple neck) and they sounded great! Will this also be the case for an Ash/maple strat (the dimarzio website shows that the midrange is 9/10. Not sure that would be overkill, since the ash is already somewhat more brighter tham alder).

And any advice for a great/matching neck humbucker?

    Opinions much appreciated

I'll venture they'll sound great in ash, and I'd personally be tempted to just get the set - the neck looks great, too.

I'd say the GS is the first new Dimarzio in a while that's got me excited. It seems to me that it's a modern take on the super distortion era of Dimarzio.

The Gravity Storm is really fat, I considered it a modern version of a Super Distortion. It would probably work really nicely in ash. The neck model might be cool too.
