    Love the SSL5/6 now for many years,but I also really love the Twangbanger!

        I hear more similarities between the hot SSL-3 and the STL-2 than with the SSL-5. I always though the "hot" models sounded too dark and congested. The SSL-5 on the other hand is tight and aggressive without sounding fuzzy or bloated.

          The ssl1 c was later relabeled as ssl5. Just what Evan told us earlier. Why would he lue?

            Actually, the SSL-1C was purchased by Phil Taylor for Mr. Gilmour prior to me joining Seymour Duncan. So I know about it primarily from talking with Phil.

              Awesome piece of rock history right there! I finally settled on a SSL5/ SSL1 and a Custom surfer in the neck of my G&L Legacy and I couldn't be happier. Nice, phat overwound Strat sounding goodness.
