      I can't raise it, they're fixed (seymour duncan classic stack). The string is as close as possible, much too low now as I get fret buzz.

        It's probably not the pickup, since a pickup creates a big magnetic field that picks up the strings even if the height isn't perfect.

        I'm guessing it's a setup issue, where the high E has a nut slot cut too low, the action too low, a bridge with a worn saddle, or a string that's stretched or oxidized. Or, the pickup is too close to the string, and magnetic string pull is choking off the string's energy.

        The first thing I'd do is change the strings. Then, check the nut slot. Smooth out the bridge saddle with fine sandpaper. Check the action and intonation.

          Nope, the nut slot and bridge saddles are just fine. It's a brand new guitar. The high E could be raised a little though. I think I "solved" it. The problem was pretty much in my head I think.
