    Seems like you can't go wrong with the JB. Very versatile and I've had a few different producers/engineers/re-amper's recommend them instead of actives. SH-6 is very popular, but I prefer the SH-15 (Alternative 8). my two cents, best of luck

          Check if you have 330k volume pot(s). If you do, change them to 500k and you'll probably fall in love with the stock pickups...
          If not, can't go wrong with the Custom, DD, or the 500T. But all of them sound best for Metal with 500k pots of which Gibson is only using on their Tone pots and Push/Pull pots, currently.

          ...Actually you might really like the Custom 5 with an UOA5 magnet.
