  • Mixing Duncan with Dimarzio

I think I'm gonna try putting an Area 58 in the neck and middle and then put a Duncan Distortion in the bridge. Can I just go ahead and solder the wires normally?

Sometimes you have problems with polarity between SD's and Dimarzio's, so you may need to reverse the hot/cold leads on one of the pickups to have the correct phase relationship in middle positions.

^^^^^this^^^^ and check the color codes for each company. DiMarzio uses different color wiring than Seymour Duncan.

Red is hot in a DMZ, black is hot in a Duncan.

Any of the Areas will blend well with any Duncan humbucker.

The Area just has a green and red with the white and black taped off.

You won't need to split the DD in position 2, it will quack and be in relative phase without doing so.
