    Thats what David of Zhangbucker said:

    What is 9 like, compared to Alnico 8?  Even hotter, yes, but with more bite and chainsaw grind -- A9 is to A8 what A5 is to A2, but minus the mid scoop.

      Addiction effects, I think thats the name of the dude, now has Alnico 9. I'm going to buy one and put it into my Custom, just for Sh!ts and giggles.;

      They also have ALNICO 6! Thats another I hadn't heard of till today;

      I dunno, maybe if you put the 9 in upside down, it'd be the same as 6.

              I think a9 might be useful for swapping on weaker to medium pickups with darker winds. Maybe like a 59 or something.

                  1 thru 12. Output more or less increases as the numbers get higher.

                    Re: Alnico 9?

                    I put an A9 in a jb. From what I described and other people have said: in the jb, it's very similar to the a8 in that it smooths out the mid hump, shifts it towards lower mids, curbs the highs a bit, and tightens the lows. As for output, it is slightly hotter but not a world of difference. It's also a bit less dark than the a8, which personally I like. I just bought one on a whim and have been very happy with the results.

                      I agree the a9 definitely brighter than the a8. It sounds really tight under heavy gain.

                        Wow, I had a lot of time on my hands back then! A lot of clips.

                        C8 vs C9

                        C9 rhythm and lead

                        C8 lead for comparison with above
