  • Vintage hot stack for strat

I am thinking of replacing my ssl-6 with the vintage hot stack in the bridge position of my Strat......any thoughts on the tonal difference?

Does anyone have any experience with the vintage hot stack?

If you like the SSL-6, the Custom Stack Plus is the same/similar noiseless. The Vintage Hot is a little lower output but it sounds like a nice fat lightly overwound vintage pickup.

Thanks Frank! Does the stack have a little more lowend? I am looking for something similar to the ssl-6 with a tad more lows.

The Hot Stack Plus has the most low end and lowest resonant peak. The Vintage Hot is not as hot as the Custom, but its a different wire gauge so the tonal balance is shifted. Being more overwound vintage it has a little more low end girth. The Custom is hotter but also screams a little more.
