Nickel cover Versus Uncover Pickups ?

Hi , Maybe is a well known fact, but I am kind of new in the world of Humbuckers...
Is it truth the a cover Pickup will sound brighter then an uncover one ??? Given the same specs on both....?

No, the cover dampens the treble a bit, somewhat like a lower value volume pot.

For example: I like the Duncan 59 with an Alnico II magnet for the neck in my Les Paul. Uncovered, it sounds perfect. Covered, it's way too dark.
