I recently got a free non-working bass guitar that I'm trying to fix. I am looking for a wiring diagram for it, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. I don't know the make of the guitar, but here's what I do know:
- It has 2 passive pickups
- Each pickup has it's own selector switch, which is a DTDT on-on switch.
- There is one volume control, and one Tone control (I assume so, it's labelled 'T')
- There's one 1/4" output. Obviously!
I can find diagrams close to this, but none that match exactly.
I've already inspected the wiring, and apart from confirming the wiring setup, everything looks physically in order. Aside from testing every component, is there anything I can try first? It seems like a very straightforward system that has very limited number of things that can go wrong.
Any advice that you have would be much appreciated! Maybe even a way to determine exactly what kind of bass I have. It looks a little like a cheaper Squier bass, but it appears the neck has been replaced and doesn't have any name on it.
Thank you!
