  • Electra Omega Change out to SD Advice Needed

Hello, I have decided to change out the stock pups on my vintage Electra Omega (1980's Matsumoko) to SD, Yes I will save the originals, For those that don't know this is basically a Les Paul (thinner and lighter) with coil taps on the tone controls. So I figured this would be a breeze however after removing the pup cover I discovered that one pup has three wires and the other four???? Anyone familiar with this? Funny the pups have the same stamp 53.......

    Thanks In Advance

what kind of tone are you after?

three wires on a humbucker are typically - hot, ground, and coil split.
four wires are the start and finish of each coil
