about the pickups.. and tweaking and mods in general for pickups. I see mention on here of swapping magnets.. pole pieces.. etc.. Is there somewhere on this site or the web what goes into detail for further study so I can understand? I read somewhere that swapping out such and such on the Screamin Demon trims some of the high end... and people swap out magnets it seems all the time.. just wanted to learn a bit more myself if for no other reason than for better understanding.

There are a ton of step-by-step videos about p'up swapping, mag swapping, etc on You Tube.

Plus, there are several books on the subject in the book section of stewmac.com.

Here is the link I was talking about. It doesn't talk so much pickups as much as guitar circuits , which is just as important. Though it does explain how humbuckers work.

Much of the magnet/screw swapping has come about from forums like this and others. Blueman 335 and Kojak both have threads and replies on here about the properties of various alternatives
