OK, poplar HSS bolt-on with rosewood fingerboard, and in the neck will be a Classic Stack Plus, and the bridge will have a 59/Custom Hybrid or a Custom Custom.
I want a RW/RP true single coil for the middle. The middle pickup will not be wired to be on by itself:
1. Neck
2. Neck Split + Middle
3. Neck Split + Neck coil of HB
4. Middle + Bridge coil of HB
5. Bridge.
Yes, I need a Super Switch.
So the middle will be RW/RP to have all positions hum cancelling. Since the middle won't be used by itself, I can go with a true single coil. But which one? APS-2? SSL-2? Five-Two? Sound clips are scarce and searching for 'five-two' here turns up nothing. I'd want snappy bass and quackalicious tone wherever the middle pickup is being used. What will blend better with the other pickups?
