  • Neck Humbucker with 250k pots...

    Hi guys,

I have a Nashville Telecaster and I have a couple of really nice pickups in the bridge and middle positions. I'm using 250k pots as normal. That's all good; but the neck humbucker, a PAF style chrome-covered pickup, is Littlelr on the dark side. I'm wondering if there might be a good neck position humbucker that would be better suited for 250k pots. My first thought is the SH-2 Jazz model. Any other thoughts?

Seymour designed the Jazz for his Telegib. It'll sound great in your Tele too.

My first thought was the Jazz too. That's what I'd go with.

Sorry - lack of other thoughts so far!

I was thinking of the Jazz too; hence my original post. Can I get one covered?

What if you used 500k pots, and one 250k resistor in parallel with each single coil? :-)

Solder it between the hot point of each single coil and the ground. That's it.

+1 Did this wiring a buddy's tele, so the neck saw 500k & the bridge saw around 250; worked out great.

SM1n. You need to replace the pickguard though.

That's okay... I just reinstalled the Strat neck pickup. I like that one best there anyway....
