  • 59/Custom in neck position....

Anyone try a 59/Custom in neck of a dual HB guitar?
Wanting to swap out my A2P neck in my EPI LP.
Looking for singing leads, no mud.
Narrowed it down to DDn, JAZZn or Screamin' Demon, and maybe a 59/C.
Bridge is a Tom Anderson H3N+.
    Hamer,Fender Kramer,Epiphone,Yamaha
    Full Shred,'78 EVH,Custom 5,Alnico Pro II's,Vintage Rails,STK-1,STK-2.

Unless your bridge pickup is a Distortion or Invader strength you'll have some serious output mismatches.

I know Anderson's pickups well. Honestly, you're probably best off with an H1, H1+ or maybe a Dimarzio PAF Pro that was made to compliment such a high output/shred sound. Duncan 59 hybrid could be pretty cool but I'm not sure you'd LOVE the cleans. IMHO, PAF Pro might be a great fit if you want a PAF to fit a shred style pickup like the Anderson.

I recently had a guitar with an H1+ neck and found myself wishing I had gotten an H1. My bridge was an H3+. I used to sell Andersons and worked at a store with 20+ on the wall at all times.

The Anderson pickup is way up there

Yeah, the HN3+ is around 16.5K.
59/Custom is 11.3K or something close.
Should I keep it below 10K?
Will probably give it a go, if it don't match, i'll keep it for another project.
