As for winds......the tone chart says the JB is 16.4k and the DD is 16.6k. Has to be different based on those specs, right? How many extra turns of 44awg does it take to equate to that difference?

Maybe, but what if the coils/winds are the same and it's just the A5 vs ceramic mag difference that accounts for the output difference? My own unscientific findings show that output does change modestly with mag type changes. Every single change, and I've done a lot of them over the last 2 years, has made a perceptible change in output. How that translates to how they are measured, I have no clue....because I haven't read a related thread on that in a long time.

I am interested to know where this all ends up.
