  • Active pickups - Tone capacitors for bridge and middle/neck positions

    Hi All,

I would like to use the following wiring diagramm to my ARIA guitar. The pickups are EMG81(bridge), Seymour Duncan AS-1N(middle) and EMG85(neck). What do you suggest for the value of the bridge tone capacitor and middle/neck tone capacitor?

To me, 100V or lower give a "livelier" effect; since our signal is in the millivolt range, there's no objective reason for high voltage caps, other than you might subjectively prefer them. The value that produces the most pleasing or most useful resonance might be almost anything Somewhere between 1500pF and .1µF is probably where your preferred value is hiding out...
