Strat steel bottom plates

I'm trying to attach steel plates to the middle & bridge SC's in my favorite Strat, and I'm having some trouble getting the plate to touch all the rods. If all the rods aren't touching the plate, then I won't get the full increase in induction that a steel plate can deliver.

Anybody have experience with this?
