The ibanez neck simulator mystery. rg550xh

I am trying to find out what exactly is inside the ibanez rg550xh neck simulator? I tried to order one from my local dealer and they said unless its a warranty job they wont supply one. I also asked rich @ibanez rules and he hasn't got any advice. I asked on the ibanez forums and they don't know.

So who wants to guess whats inside the green box in this schematic?

Some of you might remember i am building my own take on extended range guitars similar to the 30 fret ibby so hence my interest.

Since we're dealing with an active circuit, my guess would be an IC filter of some type... boosting bass & low mids usually generated by a neck pickup... probably rolling off some of the treble as well... the hardwired, IC & opamp equivalent of an SIR impulse processor...

In short, I have no idea, and would love to 1) hear it, and 2) know what the hell is in there...

I wonder if some of the Bartolini preamps can be wired to do that?

hey thanks bro, i will keep that in mind i am hopefully coming to Sydney soon for a stratovarius concert.. Thing is tho i promised myself i wouldn't buy any new guitars as i am trying to make my own.
