pickup polepiece and chipped edges

Hi,

I just installed SJB-1 pickups in my Fender jazz and noticed that neck pickup polepiece under E-string has chipped edge. Chips missing arent big but still it worries me. Is it normal and does it effect on sound.

You're probably down to 99.8% of magnetic field strength possibility.
