  • Wiring diagram problem

    hi guys.
firstly i'm going to apologize for any grammar mistakes i could do.

    i'm going to order a custom jazzmaster (from warmoth) with 2 humbuckers (sh-2/sh-4), 2 volume-1 tone 500k pots and a 3-way gibson-style switch,
and the problem is --- i need to be able to split either coil of either pickup. i'm planning to use 2 3-way mini-switches in general.
i cannot find the right diagram, therefore im posting a new thread. i'm sorry if i'm doing something wrong in any way.
when the parts arrive, i will assembly and solder everything myself, because im on a tight budget, but im not really good at electronic stuff, so, im asking for some help.

    p.s.
they only have 2-way on-on and 3-way on-on-on mini-switches on warmoth.com. is it necessary to have on-off-on switches?

    thanks from saint-petersburg.
any information would be apocalyptically helpful.

    Re: Wiring diagram problem

You don't need necessarely on/off/on switches, with an on/on/on switch you can do whatever you can do with an on/off/on.
But, why 3-positions instead of 2?.
I mean, split-to-slug, split-to-screw and coils-in-parallel are very close sound-wise and, none is equal to a true single coil.
I would probably go for humbucker/coils-in-parallel for such a couple of pickups.
    Just my 2 cts.
