  • Dipping my toe..

So, I was recently gifted with a pickup that I don't need: an Ibanez V8. So, given that it's free, I figured I'd give this whole mag swap thing a shot.

Reading online, I found a site mentioning that moving from the A5 magnet that's in it to either a ceramic, or an A3 improves it considerably.

Getting a wild hair up my @%^, I decided to buy an A4 from Addiction-FX... we'll see what happens.

If I can, I'll post clips.

Whats the stock magnet? Is it a Dimarzio designed PU?

Sounds like it's in the Custom range.

Are the coils each in the low 7K range or are they mismatched?

        Try an A2.
        Nope...

I've got the A4 on the way... I think I've got another A5 already... anybody got an A2 or 3 they're not using?
