  • wet Duncan 78 model

I recently received a 78 and the pickup ribbon is still wet with black ink.
I don't want black ink on my guitar, as it is difficult to wash off my hands.
    Should I send it back?

There's some other issue there. The black tape is made well before the pickup is assembled. Where was it bought from??

Looks like the tape was oozing?

do you have any coil tape around? if so, just replace it. or at least pull that tape off to see if there's something else at play. or call Seymour Duncan, since 99.9% of the people here are just end users like you.

better yet, I'll do you one better. if you think you just can't live with it, send it on over here. I won't even charge you for taking it off your hands. there...problem solved. that's how I roll...always thinking of the other guy.

I called Seymour Duncan and Scott Miller is replacing it for me.
He said "that's weird!" and has never seen anything like that before.

I'm very happy with their customer service! Thanks Scott!
