  • Eric Bell sound?

    Hello!
I came across that vid on yt and got interested about Eric Bells pickups. He seemed to use Dearmond pickups in his Strat. Some say they are be bucker sized single coils. Is any knowledge about that in here?
    Cheers, Martin

They look like regular humbuckers to me.

yeah, thought so too, but ...
      1) i just found something .. if the info is correct (, see the linked forum; the last post by Peegoo ) they are singlecoils.
      2) if you google "DeArmond 2k & 2000" for pictures, you will see how strange they're built

the more i investigate, the more i believe they are normal humbuckers. perhaps low resistance (more highs?)

I'm not buying that they are DeArmond's. They look like normal humbuckers to me.

however, i like eb's sound. maybe i should try pearly gates (neck) to get a bit into the direction. for know i only know the bridge version. are there any even more brilliant buckers?

The covers logo does look like it says DeArmond, but that doesn't necessarily mean the pickups themselves are DeArmonds.
