Tried to search X2N, so as not to repeat things that have been said over and over, but search is down. So maybe that's good, I won't just repeat someone else's info...
So I just installed the X2N on my basswood body, maple neck & fretboard 2010 Ibanez RG (Edge III tremolo).
I liked it very very much. I was afraid that it might be "too much" or "shrill" sounding or "too bright", but it was certainly none of those.
It's certainly a high output humbucker, which is what I wanted for the bridge position.
The EQ is nice for me, crunches very nicely with my distortion pedal, plenty of Mids, plenty of high, not too much low.
The leads were also surprisingly pleasant to my ears. The leads on the Fast Track in the middle position also very enjoyable.
The two DiMarzios in the guitar currently verified that I do need to change out the neck pickup though, so I'm in the market for a neck humbucker.
Overall after using an X2N for the first time, it's a winner in my book.
