  • HH 2Vol 1Tone Explorer Wiring with Phase, Series/Parallel and Coil Split

Hi guys, I'm scratching my head here wondering if this can be done?

I want to wire an Explorer, which will have three push/pull pots.

    In my dreams:
The first (Neck Vol) is a phase switch for when both pickups are on.
The second (Bridge Vol) is a Series/Parallel switch that switches both pickups.
The third (tone) is a Coil Split that works on both pickups.

Can anyone kindly unscramble this for me, or point me to the correct page on this site where I can find the information?

    Is it even possible?

I wait in hope for a reply!

    Best wishes,
    ibis

each pickup would have to have a coil split

i'd wire it up so that when both volumes are pulled up, both pickups are split, third knob then determines series/parallel

is there room for a 3 way toggle switch (gibson styel)? if so there are many ways you could go about this. Just wire it one function at a time and piggy back those wires to the next push/pull and so on so that under certain conditions, you get the sound you want, ie. all 3 pulled then parallel split coils or something. I'm not sure if you'd actually need another push pull pot to create an out of phase knob.

i'm no pro at wiring this kind of stuff though, i just experiment until i am happy with what i get.
