    To see which part of your rig is the problem, play your guitar with a different amp, and play your amp with a different guitar. That's the simplest and cheapest way to see if it really is your guitar's pickups or not.

        The EMG 60/81 set is probably the *least* muddy set of pickups you can have. It's not the pickups themselves that's causing the problem.

          So would I, if I could put A2's in both of them. While very popular in it's stock from for certain genres of music, JB's aren't particularly versatile.

          BTW, the name 'Hot Rodded Set' in a misnomer, as the JazzN is a mild, clear, low output PU. A lot of people assume it's a hot overwound PU, which it isn't at all, and some are disappointed.
