    Re: Stratocaster Pickups..

Any combination of SD Vintage Hot Stack Plus and Classic Stack Plus. It'll always be a slight compromise between "true single coil tone" and noiseless, but these pickups are Seymour's offering.

Hand-crafted electric guitar pickups, acoustic guitar pickups, bass pickups and pedals. Helping musicians find their signature sound since 1976.

You'r right. I have a Duncan Albert Lee set in one of my strats and an EMG Gilmour set in my other strat. Played back to back, the EMG loaded strat is MUCH louder, darker, and more compressed. It's also dead quiet as far as hum is concerned. Recorded, the Duncan loaded strat is, well, stratty, while the EMG loaded axe sounds like it has very compressed, detailed humbuckers. Live, though, it sounds enough like a strat to not matter, is loud and punchy enough to cut through thr mix, and is totally hum free.
        Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
