78 in a HSS Super-Strat - what are you guys pairing it with?

I'm in the final stages of assembling my HSS superstrat. I decided to go with a 78 Custom Shop bucker for the bridge position.

What are you guys pairing it with, as far as single coils go? How's the tone, output match, etc?

I've got a Neck and Middle Alnico II Pro pair that I think would go great with it, but wanted to hear your opinions.

Agreed. I loved the '78 in the strat that I had it in, but it was a single pickup guitar. Can't wait to hear how it works out for you.

The other option is the Five-Two, which sound wonderful. I use them with my 59/Custom Hybrid.

Hows the output balance with the Five-Twos and the Hybrid?

I have it set so when the Five-two is used with the Hybrid, the Hybrid is split. It sounds really good...quacky as they come.

Ideally, neither, keep it single hb. Otherwise, weaker magnet pickups, the better the 78 will sound.

In fact, play it unplugged before adding the n& m, then after: listen to the sound swell after the attack. Extra magnets slightly dampen the enriching overtones.

It's so insignificant that I fully dont expect you to give a hoot; i only mention it because the 78 is a fairly gourmet hb.
