  • HH 5 way import switch wiring HELP!

    Hallo,

may I ask your help to wire 2 HBs and an import 5 way switch.

I'd like to have full bridge HB in position 1, both full HBs in 2-3-4, full neck HB in 5 (hence I don't think I need a super switch).

I tried to search into the web with no luck.

    Thank you in advance.

    Regards

How does the switch look like? Does it have the poles in one row or there are 2 rows of poles?

Import switches are almost always 8 in a row on the same side. The contacts could be:

      Common (output, typically)
      Neck
      Middle
      Bridge
      Bridge
      Middle
      Neck
      Common

Doc, usually the commons are in the middle. So, it goes like this:
The bridge hot goes to the first two terminals. Neck hot to the last two, and output to the center two. There will be two unused terminals. (3 and 6)

correct, the switch has 8 lugs in a row.

          I figured out as follow:
          1: bridge hot to 1
          2: join 1+3
          3: neck hot

I am not sure if the result will be 1 bridge HB, 2-3-4 bridge+neck HB, 5 neck HB.

Artie's right. Do that and you're there. If you join 1 and 3 you're gonna have both pickups all the time.
