My band played a show over the weekend. I used my Les paul Standard loaded with the Slash set through my EVH 5153. Thought it sounded pretty good.

Re: SLash set with High gain
Your rigs sounds awesome!
And I think this is perfect proof that pickups/output/magnets don't define everything about your sound. In the end I think you'd sound like a badass with just about anything in your guitars. (and that's a compliment)Originally posted by BigAlTheBirdI just got oiixed in the mung by a Canadian.

Re: SLash set with High gain
Man, I'd love to hear that recorded through the PA, rather than a cell-phone.
But sweet!
Sidenote: I installed a set of Slash AII Pro's in a customers axe awhile back. He thought I got one pup backwards. I had to show some Google'd pics and the Duncan write-up so he'd know they were meant to be oriented that way.

Re: SLash set with High gain
Low output pickups into high gain amps is usually a winning combination.
I listen to VH's A Different Kind of Truth all the time on my new improved car stereo, and even though the tone isn't the old Marshall, Ed gets a crushing and huge tone on this album with that amp. It's cool to hear Ed rip it up with the most grunting heavy tone he's ever had.
Your band sounds really good as well. Thanks for sharing.Originally posted by Boogie BillI've got 60 guitars...but 49 trumpets is just...INSANITY! WTF!

Re: SLash set with High gain
i would like to see an isolated clip, just the neck pickup doing some solos and if possible with some sweep picking using the alnico II pro SLash with high gain. cause im willing to put either a 59, or a alnico II pro slash in the neck, if i get convinced that it will do what i want. Q: p otherwise ill get a pearly gates neck as the folks here suggested.
Btw, nice heavy sound. im into heavy territory too. but way faster and heavier.Ibanez RG7420-Evo 7-Liquifire 7
