  • BMP-1 Coil Splitting?

So I just got one these and combined them with my artec X5 custom pickups neck and bridge and so far blown away by the sound.

I've tried doing a search on the coil splitting and found to split my coils I would need to feed the red to ground?

When I feed the red to ground the humbucker did split but theres was a huge loss in output is this normal?

yes you do lose A LOT of power and that's logical. You lose like output because the humbucker is split and with less juice to boost, the BMP boosts of course less. so, that all adds up.

If I remember correctly, one coil is loaded more than the other. You could try running white to ground instead.

Thanks guys I figured it out, I just had my color coded wires all wrong, once I figured that out I wired both red from bridge and neck to a push/pull knob. That splits each red to ground and to the BMP-1.
