  • late 80's vs late 2000's PGb

I own both of the above and noticed some serious difference. Just want to know, is it age alone that caused the difference?

I swapped out the 80's PGn for a newer one, because I wanted to install a Triple Shot. so I needed the 4 conductor wire vs the 1 conductor. So this experience is from the same guitar. What I noticed is this, the older one seems thinner and weaker than the newer one. Is this common for older pickups?

What was the PG's starting year, anyway?

Sounds like a de-magnetized magnet. You could measure with a compass or so.

I think I got this one in '87 or '88.

      De-mag might make sense.
