  • Firebird tone

this probably been asked before: besides getting a Gibson Firebird with mini-humbuckers, how else can one get that sound? Would mini-humbuckers in another non-firebird work, like an SG? It just sounds so cool to me. Thanks in advanced.

    Re: Firebird tone

Firebird pickups, (which are not like any other "mini humbuckers") is a great start but the rest of the guitar owl have some impact on the resulting tone.

Firebird pickups in an SG will get you in the ballpark but not all the way there.

Why not get a Firebird? I played with a guy that had a Gibson Firebird V with mini's, and his tones were exceptional: rich and full with just enough bite.
