  • Waxy Cats

Got a set of Phat Cats Neck/Bridge in a mahogany semi hollow for Blues rock stuff, greasy overdriven leads.

Always thought the high E string sounded muffled, more like getting the notes in the upper register sound is more like hanging onto the cliff for dear life rather than soaring over it.

Anyways, with the recent article by Adam Gotch http://www.seymourduncan.com/blog/th...ve-humbuckers/ I decided to adjust the screw pole just a smidge.

At first I thought I was stripping the screw, but it turns out there was quite a bit of wax on the top of the screw pole as well as in the cavity.
I've heard of wax potting but it seemed like maybe there was more than necessary?
    Any thoughts?
Could this be the culprit, I dont have a chance to crank up for a little while and test it out and I wanted to post this before I forgot about it.
Working...
