  • NPD Soon. Winter is Coming!

So after falling hopelessly in love with the Nazgūl/Sentient sets in my 7 string I decided to order another set of "For some reason not available in the UK, even by special order" pickups.

My Black Winters were shipped yesterday and should be with me by next week. i'd be a lot happier with a single conductor version but I cant wait to get my RGT42 upgraded with them, thats if they dont end up in my black Jem 555.
    Ibanez RG7620 and RG1527 w/ SD Nazgūl/Sentient pickups.
Ibanez Jem 555 x2 (White Black)
    Epiphone Custom Alpine White
Epiphone LP standard with SD Alnico Slash Pickup
    Epiphone Zakk Wylde Custom
    PRS SE Paul Allender
    Peavey 5150II

Haha, I dont REALLY know what to expect from them, I'm hoping for "6 string Nazgul" kinda tone, loads of balls but also clarity and string definition. IF I dont get that I may well be selling my remaining six string guitars and concentrating on 7 strings. My love affair with the NAzgul is bordering on the creepy.

It has a crazy sharp high end, tons of output and big punchy bass. I don't know how it would compare to the nazgul.

Sounds pretty similar, kinda like an Evo with a hangover. We'll see I'll either love them or sell them. So long as they have enough grunt to upset my lead guitarist then they'll be ace.

Your lead guitarist will probably try to choke you as soon as you plug in...

I just put a set in my Jackson. In a word...awesome. You won't be disappointed.

The high end is definitely sharp. I'd say defined is maybe a better word. It's not ear piercing like a JB can be. The pick ups are very articulate.

I'm going to actually say that the BW's high end is MUCH brighter and more aggressive than a JB. Like substantially. But that's just me.

Awesome! Ive always hated the JB sound, its always seemed flat and lacking expression to me (pinch harmonics in particular just seem dead), the JB is one of the two reasons I stopped buying Jacksons.

                  Looking forward to these though.

You'll like 'em, and if you have a 5 way switch for the guitar you're going to put them in, use it. They sound great when split.

I do, but it will end up being a 2 Vol guitar with a 3 way tele switch. I really dont like tapped buckers.

Well this guy has a higher resonance peak than a JB and is much hotter. So pinch harmonics on this thing should not only be effortles but evicerating.

I'm dead serious, man, you'll be missing out. They sound like a friggin Strat when you split 'em, not like a typical split humbucker.

Man, I've had a push/pull sitting around for several months and never got around to installing it. I may have to now!
