  • Winding Directions/Polarity on SDs

Man, this is frustrating. Does anybody know the winding directions/polarity of Phat Cats or SD hums? It sounds crazy, but I'm seriously considering pairing a PAF hum in the neck to a PC in the bridge in my LP. The idea is that I would split the neck hum and wire the two in series and cancel hum, but I can't find which way they wind anything to know if it would work with a factory pup, hah. Anyway, thanks.

If you're splitting the humbucker, you can choose which coil you want on and off, so if it hums when you split it, couldn't you just switch the wires and use the other coil?

AFAIK they´re wound in the same direction as the "originals", ie. strat singles and PAFs (or in this case P-90s).
