This particular lap steel is naturally very muddy/boomy, and this pickup is the opposite extreme. They cancel each other out nicely.

Those things have very shimmery cleans and distorted tones while still remaining decently thick sounding and can get super close to the strings. Yeah that actually might be the ULTIMATE lap steel pickup right there.
