I like a Custom 5 and 59 set up. Very familiar with the guitar ad unless it is an overly bright guitar for some reason I think that would suit you well.

The Custom Custom and an A2 neck would be my second choice

I had one of those same guitars. I tried a number of pickups in them. I tried the emgs that came with it and ripped them out. tried the JB and it did not do it for me. Tried the distortion/jazz and it was getting close. distortion actually sounded really good in that guitar but then i put the sh5 custom in the bridge and the 59 in the neck and it never sounded better. The 59 was not boomy in the neck slot like it is in my les paul. and the custom just slays in the bridge. it can do so many things. Thats my vote

Great post! I was waiting for that "first hand" experience... Would be too much ask you for some sound clips of your guitar And maybe tell me what amp and cab are you using???

            From now thanks a lot!!!

I know it sounds like a stupid suggestion but maybe APH Slash pickups might be the way to go they fit the styles you are looking for and are litterally made for Les Paul guitars as long as you crank the amp for the extra bite

APH Slash set was one of my "semi finalist"... But I don't know... I don't know if I want a signature set in MY guitar...

I was asking myself the same...

After a lot of thinking... Probably I will go with the Alnico II way... So I have to decide between the sh11 for the bridge and a 59 or an Alnico II Pro for neck.. or an Alnico II Pro set for both positions...

Something else to say my dear pickups maniacs???

                        Cheers!

Because just about every TOM made in the last 10 years has been TB spaced.

If you're looking for some demos of those pickups here's a good video with several models. Note that this guy uses modeling and processing (so mileage may vary) but it should give you at least a ballpark of the sound. It doesn't have the custom custom or the custom 5, but it's got most everything else. It even has the new Custom/59 Hybrid which has an interesting sound you should check out.

I've seen that video thousands of times but it's a pain in the ass that you can't find a decent demo video of the Custom Custom in a Les Paul style guitar...

Maybe the Seymour Duncan guys should solve this...
