  • mixing dimarzios & duncans - wiring code differences (Petrucci wiring)

Getting ready to put a Duncan in the neck and a Dimarzio in the bridge of one of my guitars and plan on doing the Petrucci wiring (where only the inner coils of the humbuckers are on in the middle position).

As far as I can tell, the only differences between Duncan and Dimarzio wiring codes is that the lead wire is black on Duncans, but red on Dimarzios.

Is that about the only "conversion" I need to worry about when doing the Petrucci wiring and mixing a Dimarzio and a Duncan?

    thanks!

You should be good to go. I had a setup like that too. It was a Dimarzio Al Di Meola in the bridge and a JB in the neck. Worked great.
