A Custom with a Phat Cat?

I've been GAS-ing for a while now and I think I've settled on the mod platform I want. http://www.rondomusic.com/gravitywfshta.html

Now I'm wanting something versatile that can switch between medium heavy music in C# (So I can play Snuff by Slipknot) and more bluesy/clean stuff in the same guitar. I'm pretty set on the Custom because I like the sound and it splits well. And I don't have a p90 guitar so it would add another gear. Thoughts? Alternate recommendations? I was looking at the GFS Dream 90s as well.

Phat Cats can be pretty warm in the neck slot, too warm for my tastes, but some players like them. Not really the traditional sound. GFS Mean 90's are popular here as having a quality P-90 sound, Dream 90's not so much.
