  • Very high impedance

    Hello Friends,
I'm Pino from Italy and I've some question for you.
I found a MIM Strat with a working TB4 with the north coil reading 8,2K and South coil 252K. How is it possible?
    Thanks

    Re: Very high impedance

    Welcome to the forum.

A shorted coil will read high. That happened to me before. Had one read 129k. I thought I had my meter on the wrong setting.

Edit: actually, more correctly, I think it's a broken coil?

Check the connections between the pickup leads and the 4 conductor. Could be a broken coil wire too.

If it works, it works. If it still makes a sound, it isn't broken. It may sound different than normal though.
