Yeah but lots of people use it in the neck.
Was wondering how it would sound with an A3 or A4 swap.

I have had the FSn and currently have a Jazzn, both in Les Pauls. I find the Jazz to have much more personality. They are similar in the fact that they are both very articulate. I just find the Jazz to be more dynamic. The FS seemed a bit one dimensional. The Jazz has no problem with pinched harmonics, infact the Jazz has a very nice spank quality. It can funk out! The FS not so much. Under high gain, both hold up well. The FS maybe a bit more Flutey, where the Jazz has more spank.

          Does that help?

I'm a late comer to this thread, but I was going to suggest the Screamin Demon. It is one of the best neck pups there is...very articulate, even EQ, sounds great clean and even better dirty.

Might be worth a consideration. It's a bit more expensive, but well worth every extra penny you pay for it.

I had one in the neck a looooong time ago in a Jackson SDS-1 -- I only played leads with it which sounded good as much as I can remember.
3:17 in this song is the aforementioned guitar and Demon neck:

I never played power or bar chords with it though -- do they get muddy?
