It works like a balance between the pups. One pup to each end and the centre/wipe goes to your vol pot. From memory it's a 10K slide. It's a bit like a blend but is different in wiring and components. I based it on pan controls from mixing desks [ 10K > 25K the latter giving more seperation.] I use the same values on double ganged pots if i'm setting up a blend control.
I found most of my slide pots in an electronic surplus place that I frequented. Tey come in different sizes too. A lot of them are originally used in TV's. A quick look online says they're available.

I have an old valve guitar amp [70's] that used slide pots.
They didn't fare very well. Most of them had died when I had it given to me about ten years ago.
The switches are for single/double coil for each pup. Each pup is wired parralell for dual coil mode and all the pole magnets are aligned the same way in all coils [ All North facing the same diection ]
