  • Strat alternate wiring question

    If I was to have my soon to arrive Strat body wired with a 5-way super switch, and I'm fitting it with SD Classic Stack Plus pickups,
    Would it be possible to have it wired this way:
    With the neck pickup being '1' and the bridge pickup being '5' (I've heard lots of people say it the other way around, it's probably something to do with me being left handed)
    1 = Neck pickup in hum-cancelling mode
    2 = Neck and middle, 'split' so they cancel hum with each other
    3 = Neck and bridge, in hum-cancelling mode
    4 = Middle and bridge, 'split'
    5 = Bridge in hum-cancelling mode

    Also, is it possible to have the first tone knob be a master tone for all three pickups, and the second tone knob be just for the middle pickup?

    Unless I overlook something the latter is trivial, just hang master tone off the master volume pot, and middle tone you hang off the middle lug of the 5-way.

      Oh really?
      Well that's great news, hahahaha
      I'm very much a beginner when it comes to guitar wiring, so I'm just making sure it's feasible before buying the parts

      Anybody know about the switching?
      Is it possible?

        Yes you can do that with a super 5 way. I accidentally wired mine " backwards" and the switch had to be flipped in order to fit. Since you won't be using the middle by itself save a few $ and get a regular rw/rp single rather than a stack.
