  • McCarty pickups vs SD Seths or 59's

So my friend bought a PRS McCarty about a year ago. He gets some great tones out of it, but the tone always seemed a bit odd to me. Not in a bad way, but in a unique (good) way. I know PRS have weird tone naturally, but I was wondering about their pickups. I absolutely love the tone of their Santana pickups, but was wondering what people thought about the McCarty pickups. How close are they to the SD 59's. Actually which SD pickup do they sound closest to. To me they sound like a hotter Seth, but not too sure.

I may be able to pickup a couple of these for $60 each. They normally go for $130 on the prs website.
