    I rewired a guitar multiple times trying to get rid of what I thought was grounding noise. Note to self, turn off soldering iron before turning on the amp.

      Numerous times I have picked up a guitar and turned my amp on and wondered why there was no sound at all.

      Duh, plugging the cable into the amp might help, numb nuts. I'm just glad that nobody was around to see that.
