Re: Woah, what is wrong with my AHB-2 Blackout? (Or me?)

I have an AHB-2 and it's my favourite active pickup. Not over bassy at all. The bass is a bit bigger/rounder than an EMG 81 but not flubby at all. It has a wicked upper mid snarl & a ton of sweet harmonic overtones. If your's sounds like you describe it's either a wiring issue/bad pot (might have fried it while installing..most likely considering the sound your describing) or a defective pick-up..

Take it to a tech ASAP. It's probably just bad wiring, but it could also be a defective pickup. If it's the latter, get in contact with SD and they'll replace it for free. That's what they did when the Blackout in my Schecter was defective.
