I want to replace the pickups in my Ibanez SZ520, mahogany body, I want to put in some pickups that will give me a lot of crunch for hard rock but still give me good cleans. I was thinking about Custom in the bridge and a 59 in the neck, has anyone tried this/have any suggestions? thanks.

Re: Duncan Custom/59 setup
Welcome to the forum.
I really like the Custom for what you're describing, but I'm not too fond of the 59 in the neck of a mahogany guitar. I find the lows to be a bit overbearing. Personally, I'd go with a Pearly Gates at the neck to pair with the Custom at the bridge.
Add a push/pull pot for coil taps and you'll have a guitar that will cover a lot of musical sounds.Ain't nothin' but a G thang, baby.
